“Dear, gentle reader,” the voice begins, intimate and unnervingly calm, as if confessing a secret that has long been buried beneath the skin. In the HYDE trailer, Johnny Depp’s presence feels less like performance and more like a descent into a fractured mind. On Halloween Eve, the narrator admits to a relentless melancholy, wandering alone through a city that seems emptied of warmth, where grimy corners are filled with lifeless automatons. The question “Why?” hangs in the air like smoke, and the silence around it is as unsettling as the words themselves.
